WYA-GARTER LANE SUMMER SCHOOL

EACH JULY WYA AND GARTER LANE CONDUCT AN EXCITING SUMMER SCHOOL

BAD NEWS - We've had to cancel the July Summer School for 2011, however we plan to bring it back next summer and to make it bigger and better.

Garter Lane Arts Centre, one of Ireland’s largest arts centres, joins forces each summer with Waterford Youth Arts, the foremost youth arts organisation in the country, to present the Performing Arts Summer School. The Summer School takes place each day for a week at Garter Lane Gallery, O’Connell Street and at Waterford Youth Arts, The Arch, Barrack Street, Waterford.

Skilled youth art practitioners from Waterford Youth Arts lead a unique week, packed with various art forms including drama, dance, art, storytelling and video production for three different age groups: 4–6 years, 7-9 years, and 10-12 years.

It’s good fun, confidence building, full of creativity and encourages teamwork, and it’s a chance to make new friends in a fun, safe environment.

The courses are age-specific and will be presented at levels to suit everyone, so that experienced participants will be challenged and inexperienced participants will be encouraged to try out something new!

Watch the local media and WYA Latest News each June for registration information. The numbers are limited, so book your place early to avoid disappointment!
