WYA WORKSHOPS

PRESS RELEASE - 19/12/2011

Wanted: Actors, Artists, Writers, Dancers and Filmmakers

If you know of any young person interested in learning skills in the arts, then it would be a good idea to tell them to register with Waterford Youth Arts for their new term starting on January 14th and continuing for ten weeks. The workshops are very reasonably priced and if any young person has difficulty in paying, then there are bursaries.

Workshops cover a lot of art forms and also different age ranges

In Art there are three workshops 5 – 7 years / 8 – 10 years and 11 – 13 years.

In Film two workshops 9 – 12 years / 13 – 19 years.

In Dance four workshops 3 – 4 years / 5 – 7 years / 8 – 11 years and Youth Dance Company for 12 years and upwards.

In Drama five workshops 9 – 11 years / 12 – 14 years and 15 – 19 years. There are also two drama workshops in Ferrybank for 9 – 11 years and 12 – 14 years.

In Creative Writing two workshops 8 – 12 years / 13 – 19 years.

Registration starts on Monday 9th January, and the workshops are good fun and a great way to make new friends. WYA was established in 1985 and since then thousands of young people have passed through the doors and some have gone on to make careers in the arts industry. If you would like any further information please call 051-879377 or call at the office @The Arch, Barrack Street (the former Military Barracks), or email info@waterfordyoutharts.com

HOW TO REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP

   >The fee for each term varies from one art form to another but we try to keep all workshops accessible. NOTE: If any child has a difficulty paying the fee, then speak to one of the tutors or office staff - we have a bursary scheme.

   >Registration and fee-paying will be handled at the office, not by the tutor. This will leave more time for the workshops. Collect forms at the office - open 10-5 Monday to Friday - closed lunch 1-2pm.

>There's a special discount for families with three or more members. Contact the office for more information.

>If you haven't paid or registered, you won't be accepted into the workshops. Our insurance will not cover people walking in without having registered first.
