This summer, as Waterford Youth Arts celebrates its 40th anniversary, our annual Youth Theatre Summer Project will be led by acclaimed playwright and theatre director Veronica Coburn.

Stories Sketched In Glass:

"I like ordinary windows.

I like ordinary square windows"

That was the improvised line, spoken by Aidan Butler, on the rough

and ready floor of the upstairs room, the workshop room, in Garter

Lane last April that laid the foundation for Stories Sketched In Glass.

That idea really sparked my imagination. The appreciation of the

ordinary. Alongside the very human desire to be extraordinary. I liked

the idea of windows as portals. To both the past and the future. And

the idea that the present moment, this moment now, is the sum total of all the moments of our lives up to this point and the starting point for all the moments to come. (Veronica Coburn)
