Capturing The Creativity of Young People
Over 400 young people take part in activities and workshops every week.
Drama, visual art, film and creative writing for ages 5 to 19, after school and on Saturdays in Waterford city. No experience needed.
Autumn term is closed for bookings. Workshops run to late November, with no sessions during the October midterm
Workshops at Waterford Youth Arts
Most workshops are at The Arch on Barrack Street. Creative writing meets in the Central Library on Lady Lane.

Sinéad Hourigan
Theatre maker. Directed and designed The Animals at Garter Lane and The Lyric, Belfast.
Laura Broderick
Drama facilitator. Performed with street theatre company Curious State.
Ruth Flynn
Visual artist and studio artist at GOMA. With us for eight years.
Sinead Violet
Visual artist based in County Waterford, working across many mediums.
Mary O'Donoghue
Poet, playwright and performer. Wrote this summer's Hotel Rapscallion.
Keith Currams
Photographer and videographer since 2009. Runs hands-on film from day one.
Will Burke
Filmmaker, with a BA in Media Production from the University of Sunderland

Open to everyone
No experience needed, whatever the background or ability. That has been the policy since 1985.
Try one session first
A trial is one session of the workshop you choose, for anyone who wants to try before signing up for the term.
Help with the fee
Fees are €49 to €69 a term. If paying is hard, talk to a tutor or the office about the bursary scheme.

Every member of staff and every volunteer is Garda vetted and training is provided.
Artistic Director
Sandra Kelly
Waterford Youth Arts is delighted to welcome to the team Sandra Kelly as Artistic Director. Sandra is a Visual Artist and Arts Manager with over 15 years of experience in the Arts and Cultural sector. She holds a BA in Visual Art and an MA in Arts and Heritage Management.
